The Gearbox is making terrible 'its going to die' type grumbling and grinding noises and vibrates alot mid rpm's.
The noise appears from the Bellhousing area, and can be heard at high idle in neutral and using 1,2,3rd gears its bad in 4th it quietens up alot.
I thinking the bearings are shot main and layshaft:mad:

your thought on this are most welcom.

started engine and pressed clutch pedal up and down. pushing peddle down made it go all quiet. on a test run i wondered why it went quiet in fourth????

'cos by that time your deafened by the body rattles, wind & road noise :D

Not really :D The gearbox has reduced the ratio of engine rev's to wheel rotations. Lower engine revs= lower clutch & thrust brg revs.
