hi all, I've decided to swap my old 2.5 petrol with a v8, but the new engine refuse to start due to no spark!!!!
I've the 35DLM8 distributor with the ignition module on his side.
I've connected the coil (+) to the power source and to the ignition module, and the (-) to the ignition module, but the engine doesn't start.

can anyone help me?

Good decision about replacing the 2.5L 4cylwith a 3.5L Rover V8. Welcome to the club! :D

As for your problem, I'm going to ask anyway just in case - have you connected the coil and ignition amplifier correctly? Just in case, here is a picture of the connection:

If the ignition amplifier is connected properly and you still dont get a spark then I think its worth testing the coil on its own as this could tell you if the coil is okay (and then the ignition amplifier is potentially bust) or if the coil is not okay.

To test the coil:

Disconnect all the wires from the coil
Pull the main HT lead from the distributor
Plug a spark plug in this lead, lay spark plug on a rocker cover
Using a bit of wire, attach 12V to the +ve side of the coil
Using another bit of wire which is taken to -ve side of the battery, touch this to the -ve side of the coil briefly and you should get a spark at the plug. If not your coil is fried.
