Hi, a few weeks ago when trying to start my landy v8 smoke started coming from under the bonnet. when i looked the wire going from the coil to the condenser had burnt out and the earth link wire that goes from the bottom of the distributer to the top plate(where the points screw on to) in the distribitor as well. Ive replaced all these parts and changed the coil but i still cant get any spark, I have power going to the coil. but no high tension. I ditched my points and condensor and fitted a accuspark electronic ignition kit instead( that i have sent back once to be tested and they recon there is nothing wrong with it).
Any ideas why those wires burned out and why i still aint got no spark?

Is the dizzy ok? What about the cap and arm?
Put the points back in and see if they open and close when you turn the engine over.
