Hey folks,

I was recently offered the opportunity to buy a 2003 Defender 110 CSW TD5 from Lochlomond Mountain Rescue team. It's been maintained by the ambulance service and was ordered from Land Rovers special vehicles department.

It's been well maintained, is low mileage and was dry sorted so I got a bargain at 9k for a td5 with 48,000 miles.

I recently ordered fire and ice side steps for it, but I've got under neath and none of the mounting points are available on the sills.

Despite it not being a military vehicle is it possible this is explained by Special Vehicles department using a mil spec base for the ambulance?

If so how do I go about fitting side steps to a mil spec Defender?

If someone can help I promise to post more pics

Pretty sure they just hang from the inner sill with a couple of support bars going across to the chassis rail. The inner sill has bolt slots in it and the brackets on the steps should line up with those slots. Will depend on your particular F&I steps. A picture of your steps, with the brackets would be handy.
