td6 car was driving fine, stopped at shop for 5 mins came out engine cranking but not start. called aa they came out said it was the lift pump. there seems to be 2 pumps at the tank 1 internal 1 external. any ideas how to test which 1 is broke?:mad:

Take the access hatch off the secondary fuel filter (2 x 10mm screws IIRC which is located under N/S of car between the back of the front wheel and front of the rear wheel). Get someone to turn ignition on whilst you got your ear by the pump and you should hear it priming.

If it isn't, ignition back off and give it a a bit of gentle persuasion (tap it a few times with the handle if a big screwdriver) And try ignition on again and listen for pump....
