Thanks for all this and very helpful. I think it’s the injection pump, so the £800 makes sense. Still waiting for garage to let me know....
What. . They're taking the ****.Any ideas of cost? Been told £7-10k to replace the pump? I’m no mechanic but seems a lot!
What a crock of ****e. The pump "may" have suffered a small amount of wear, but not enough to notice.Someone has said it will run but the lubrications on the pump may have been taken off and after 2k miles, the engine ceases.
Then take to someone who knows what they're talking about. Thanks for all this and very helpful. I think it’s the injection pump, so the £800 makes sense. Still waiting for garage to let me know....
Drain the tank, use compressed air to blow out fuel lines , fit new fuel filter then refill with diesel crack off fuel rail feed pipe and prime fuel system , retighten pipe to fuel rail , crank and start engine .
The reason I'd crack off the feed pipe to the rail is to get as much petrol out of the system as possibleThere’s that fuel pressure shrieder valve at the back of the engine
Wondering if that can also be used to bleed the system through or if as u say need to crack the fuel rail feed pipe
Thks
