Hi,
I've been putting lot of miles on my good car recently, and have been thinking of something to use as a motorway muncher, and just use the good car for the weekends.
In my family there's a Range Rover, 2 x Discos and a Freelander. Out of that lot, the only one thats never had an issue is the Freelander. so I thought... why not.
Picked up a '05 plate Freelander 5 door with a dodgy injector last week for just over 2 grand and I'm super happy with it.
Although I work in IT, I'm ok with a spanner (I was a team captain on Scrapheap Challenge) and in the first couple of days into the ownership I'd replaced the bad injector, fitted an EGR by-pass, double height stereo with reversing camera (and parking sensors), full service and a set of 235 tyres with 5mm spacers.
It's now running super smooth and I must say I'm enjoying driving it. I's a great car, very economic and roomy compared to the 3.6l petrol that I'm normally driving.
Looking forward to sticking 30K+ pa on it.
