Hi, I've just found this site so I'll introduce myself. I own a 2005 Disco 3 which I have restored to a runner after it was abandoned by a workshop where a leaking head gasket was repaired. After that repair the shop couldn't get the engine to run so the machine was sold for scrap. Turns out that a databus wire was damaged when the body was removed for the engine work, that caused the dash to light up like christmas tree and inhibited the engine start circuits. It took me a while to find the damage and repair it but now the car runs well - apart from the occasional hiccup!

Hello and welcome:)
well done on the fixing bet that was a head scratcher.
Yes the fix was certainly hard to find. The canbus cable at the rear left wheel arch was damaged. Just a bit of insulation cut away which allowed that wire to corrode and cause spurious signals.
