Hi I'm new to this site and Land rovers (in civvie street anyway) I've got a (2007) Freelander 1 2.0 TD4. The reason I moved over to Land rover was that I do a lot of miles caravanning and want something versatile and capable. unfortunately on its first outing within an hour it broke down - gears would not engage. got recovered and gearbox oil changed (as this was deemed to be the fault) I drive it daily but I am still dubious about taking it back out with caravan, as not much fun sat waiting 4hrs for a suitable recovery vehicle. I'm hoping that those of you with much better knowledge of these vehicles can advise on if this is likely to have rectified the issue or is there other things I should get checked prior to trying again. TIA

Hi and welcome.

If you post your gear selection problem on the freely section you may get a response from someone who has a similar issue?

:)
