Just saying hi.
Am looking for advice on a landrover. Not new to landrovers, nor mechanics (currently building a cobra) so not afraid of a challenge, but want to know what you guys think as the assembled knowledge I am sure is vast if the cobra forums are anything to go by.
As I said not new to landrovers - been around them since I was 6, the first being a 1982 series III van, since then my family have had a run of vans and countys.
But - I want something to have a little fun in now, and a new project. Pretty sure I want a short wheel base, canvass top, probably petrol (not the 3.0 straight 6 though - too many problems on the series III) so what engines does that leave me with?
probably looking to rebuild the engine / play around with it a little to get a bit more power out of it but not silly.
I was thinking probably a late series III with the 4.2l engine or one of the early 90's - just because after the early 1990's they seem to get a bit complicated (ok with dizzy and TDC but not ECU's!).
So would love to hear your thoughts guys and please feel free to tell me I am completely mad / misguided!!!!
