Hi, seems I missed the protocol and posted a question beFore introducing myself. I have been a member on here before but lost the login and seems email isn't recognised either...never mind.
I have owned a DEF 90 for 5 years, live near Brighton and mostly use it for towing my motorbikes around, driving round farms when shooting in the winter and now commuting to the station daily....hence just chopped in the 1988 Petrol 2.5 for. TD5. I was looking for TDI300 but the TD5 came up cheap as it was a cat C some years ago and managed to get into my price range.
I'm not much of a mechanic, but lucky enough to find an inspection pit in my garage whenI moved, so do basic servicing myself and can manage things like an alternator change, brake pads, and small general jobs. It's my first diesel, so just getting my head round the lack of spark plugs too.
Hope I can be of some help to someone out there, maybe if only sharing experiences of my old cars and how not to remediate them!
