Hello everyone,
Ive just joined the forum as ive just aquired a range rover classic, so will obviously need some friendly info in the near future.
Although ive had range rovers in the past that was quite a while ago, however over the last few months ive found myself looking at old range rovers and thinking how good they look now they are a classic, apart from the early 2 doors(expensive for a decent one) my favourite range rover look is late 90,s completely standard black vogue se.
Anyway this week i was at a friends mot station when a 94 black vogue se came in for an mot, i was admiring it when the mechanic said to me "i know someone thats got one the same as that he wants to get rid of, he's thinking of breaking it"
After some further conversation i ended up going to see the range rover in question and couldnt help myself, so i now own a 94 black vogue se. Its registered feb 94 so it has abs, eas but is a hard dash model.
The car has been off the road a while as the owner passed away, it was then passed to a family member that intended to use it for off roading, he got as far as putting huge tyres on and removing the front spoiler then lost interest, since then its lay unused (im told for around 12 months), some on here will think im mad as it has the usual issues ie eas light on, abs light on, bits of rust and worst of all it overheated on the way home, it does have some redeeming features though, its relatively solid and original, complete, but best of all from my point of view its a late black vogue se and pretty cheap, I got it for £500 rather than him break it.
Im not into the off roading side of things so providing the overheating problem is not terminal my plan is to gradually return it to totally standard spec/look ie normal road tyres, no bars etc and have some refurb/paintwork done to try and make it look as close to it did when new.
I will add pics as soon as the weather is a bit better, in the meantime does anyone fancy a virtually new set of colway C trax 235 85 16 in exchange for a decent set of 235 70 16 or 205 80 16 road tyres ?
Paul.
