Hi guys, new to this forum so greetings to you all.
Have had several land rovers of the last 10 years including 2 x 90's, 4 x disco's and a 110 v8. i have just purchased a 2002 TD5 Disco. Over the weekend i fitted a few mods that i thought i would share with you.
Bought the disco a couple of weeks ago and this being my first td5 vehicle i was unimpressed by the lack of get up and go it had, i actually preffered the driveability of my old 300 tdi disco. I done a little investigation into "tuning" the td5 but decided to get the basics right first. So this weekend we gave it a full service (12k since last) with quality parts and a K&N filter, fitted EGR delete kit, de-cat front pipe and straight through centre pipe, cleaned the MAS sensor (which was actually quite clean anyway).
The results are quite positive, the engine feels alot less asthmatic and the initial turbo spool up seems much quicker, also while the disco sounds louder outside (actually sounds very nice) the noise inside is not noticeably increased.
So for a little over £200 she is serviced and feeling alot more sprightly, just thought i would share this info in case anyone was thinking of doing the same.
