i have an 02 def 90 and my steering box has a leak, can i top up fluid and nurse for a while,or will this need urgent attention.does anyone know how much they are good make bad make etc,is it an easy job for a novice.if not would anyone know the rough cost of supply and fit.thanks in advance for any help or advice.:D

Depends where its leaking from?
Bottom output seal i would get someone else to do it, and then it may not last, im not sure how much a recon box is but at least you will get a 12month warranty.

Personally I wouldn't bother with a recon box as they seem to be very hit & miss when it comes to quality. I just bought a brand-new one (C/W drop-arm) for mine, not cheap but at least I knew I would have a decent service-life out of it. Been on over 7-years now without any issues.
Fitting isn't a problem, just make sure you torque everything up correctly when you are done. Getting one C/W drop-arm will make your life easier as they can be a pig to remove, the bleeding process is dead simple and explained in the Haynes.
