Hi all,

Recently moved to Morgins, Valais, just on the French/Swiss border, at 1350m, so a Landie was a prerequisite for all year use. After looking for months I managed to acquire a 2002 Defender 110 SW, 180k km, great mechanical and chassis condition, slightly dinged on most body panels from use in the logging industry. As such it was a relative bargain - the Swiss like their cars, even Landies, it seems, to look like new - at around 1/2 the price of a pristine example.

Done a couple of mods so far - a plug-in Chip upping the power to ~160PS, DRLs (required in CH, or else it's dipped headlights at all times), side running plate/steps and replaced the broken rear step. Oh, and I recovered both front seats and fitted a seat riser to the driver side, makes long-distance trips much more comfortable (I do a 500km round trip back to our French house every week or two).

Future upgrades on the wishlist include sound-deadening, replace the Radio/cassette with a double-din Android head unit, heated windscreen, cruise control (not sure about this). Any thoughts on any of those things would be most welcome.

Cheers all
Ace
