Hi all

My names pete from glos,i work in the NHS but play with cars a lot in my spare time,i have 3 vintage subarus,a datsun and a vw camper.
daily drive is a 94 isuzu trooper which i use for towing our 15ft car trailer, more often than not laden up with some old tat me and my mates have bought.

Hence why im here :p looking to replace the trooper with a rangie....

Ive always fancied a P38,am finally in a position to run one as a tow car/daily but havent had any experience of them so thought id ask for help on here.

Have heard conflicting stories of good and bad tales...have test driven a few.liked them all but am leaning slightly more towards diesel despite loving the idea of a V8 lol

Looking to spend about 3k but could stretch to a bit more, dont want to spend a fortune on an immaculate one as i dont want to be worrying about scratching it and leaving it in carparks.

Which model do you guys and gals recommend, hit me with info please

Ta,pete :D

cheers all

bit the bullet today and splashed out on a 99 T 2.5 DSE auto with coil spring conversion.
pick it up tomorrow, came from a garage in woodstock over oxford way,met green with cream leather.

Hope ive done the right thing lol :p

Get yourself into the Rangie section, away from all these ruffians and our butlers will inform your butler of how to look after your new carriage.

You'll possibly take some stick over the coil conversion.

My immediate input, especially if you're using it as a tow vehicle, is to keep a careful eye on everything to do with engine cooling. You'll find that you'll be kicking it quite hard to get it moving with a load on.

Welcome.

Well here she is,drove back faultlessly but have noticed a couple of tiny leaks that will need sorting, namely a slight drip from what i assume is the Auto box rad just in front of N/S front wheel, looks easy enough to replace but i also have a slight coolant leak from the front of the engine somewhere, only seems to drip a little bit when stopped after coming up hill to home......water pump?

Hi and welcome from a fellow RMN , shame you didn't get a proper landy when you had the chance, but I suppose a rangie is better than nowt :D
