I can get a set of 4 nearly new tyres with alloys for free (off a relative's freelander that is going) but the tyre size will be different. Will I need to adjust tracking and is there any other potential problem with doing this?
The tyres will all be identical and same wear.

If the Freelander is a similar year, then it's a straight swap.
Just keep in mind that pre 2001 FL1 wheels don't have sufficient offset to clear the brakes on post 2001 vehicles.

Thanks Nodge. Mine is 2003 and the wheels are coming off 2005. I will go careful with it just in case.

2005 wheels will fit a 2003 without any issues, as they are identical in the brake and hub department. ;)

Awesome. Thanks again - you're always willing to pitch in with some expert advice and I very much appreciate it.
