looking at new tyres for the wagon, want to reduce diesel cost so looking at low road resistance, and want low road noise as well I have come come up with these choices anyone got any experience of these on a freelander 2, don't do much offroad but live out in the sticks in the north of Sweden so the occasional gravel road.
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 235/60 R18 107V XL J, LR, SUV
Vredestein Sportrac 5 235/60 R18 107V XL
Goodyear EfficientGrip 235/60 R18 107V XL SUV

The amount you'll save in fuel will be offset by short tyre life. Buy tyres that offer good grip with a long life and don't worry about saving a few ml of fuel per trip.
Goodyear's in my experience last no time at all, so you'll spend more on tyres than you'll save on fuel.

I too agree with Nodge68 after a long time of being a goodyear fan and having the tyres with white lettering on in the 70/80s I change to Michelin and get much more mileage out of a set

and the wear rating is low and the noise is high, does this work out in experience or are these rating just rubbish
i went from pirelli-scorpio's to michelin latitude tours
the latitudes are quieter / less rolling resistance / wear longer
recently changed to a higher profile aspect tyre and stuck with the latitudes
( the higher profiles were cheaper as well .. )
i like them enough to buy again when needed

can't comment on the latitude cross ..
but as the 'tour' have been discontinued i'll probably opt for the 'cross' next time
( the tour and cross have different tread patterns )
