Just thought i would say hi to every-one.

After many years of modified cars, engine transplants and fast driving i have bought a 4x4.

I wanted a V8 Discovery 2001 model but the mrs said it was too dear, so we compromised and have bought a 2001 Freelander TD4.

It has full LR service history but 100k on the clock hence price £6500.

Pick it up next week, can't wait...

(And yes i am aware the entire Land Rover fraternity look down on the Freelander as a hairdressers car, but ........ they do look nice!)

Hi from the Great White North,
Although a 2001 Discovery V8 is a pretty fine unit(thats what I have),a Freelander is nothing to turn ones nose up at. I've seen Freelanders tackle offroad obsticles that would make most other 4x4's look stupid. Although the Freelander is a little smaller than its Big Brothers,it can hold it's own offroad and makes for a darn reliable daily driver.I know several people who swear by them. If that's not enough, they are a heck of a lot better on fuel than a big gas guzzling Disco. I love my Discovery and plan on keeping it forever, but I can see a Freelander in my garage as well sometime in the future.

Well change that now.

Have put off the TD4 and now have bought a V6 instead. Loads more power and it's an ES so it's higher spec.

What happened with the td4 then Treev....mind you the v6 is a nice motor.....but a little bit too fast for me im kinda used to driving every where a little slower now...dont know if its living over here or just got fed up of TRYING to make me old 2.0 di go like me old car which was a VOLVO T5 and failing miserably.:( ....you know what they say....if you cant beat em....
:D YOU MUST BE DRIVING A LANDROVER.....SO ENJOY THE SCENERY INSTEAD......HA HA ..:D
Enjoy the beast mate...i know i would....;)
TATOOBOO.

Hey Treev,
Good for you! We can't get diesel Landrover vehicles here in Canada(at least not new ones),so a good ol' Gas engine is right up my alley.Personally I don't care much for diesel because they stink and make a lot of racket, although they do have many advantages over Gas. If I could offer some advice, use only top grade oil,and premium gasoline.Your Freelander's V6 will love you for it.
