Hi all
I've recently bought a disco 300tdi, all set up and off-road ready. I've had a few weekend out at some local byways in Essex and enjoying it so far, dunmow seems to have a few decent parts? Any tips from anyone for what they tend to carry in their truck when they head out to the byways or pay and play days? What the best locations are for some good green lanes in and around Essex?

Hi @Boyer1

when off roading i always take strops and keep a basic tool kit in the back just in case.

the south has a few lanes but most of them are closed untill 31st march

as for pay and play days ive only been down to slindon safari it was good you can do as much and as little as you want

Hi charlie,
Like a fool I've been going out without tools, not even enough to put the spare wheel on!
So when I go out again tomorrow I will get some tools on board.
I noticed a few were closed, but there were some open around dunmow today, I shall try saffron walden tomorrow.
As for pay and plays, I heard that next weekend is the last event for bures pit of the season so I hope to try that

if your going out on your own as well i wouldn't risk doing any lanes that you might not make it as if you get stuck you could be there a while.

ive just looked on the maps and there are a lot round dunmow way that i didn't realize. i used to live in stebbing. would quite like to give them a go if there decent ones

best place i found for off roading was sailsbury plains. i enjoyed it alot but havnt really been out this year at all

Yeah thats not a situation I would like to be in, wouldn't mind testing the winch out though!
And I've heard Salisbury is the place to go!
Yeah plenty of good ones round there, brilliant one near stebbing, have to go through a ditch to enter one byway near there! Mad!

ah well if you have a winch u can do more on your own than most.
well if i venture that way ill drop you a message but i seem to work every weekend lately
