Hi all, I'm new to the forum and new to land rovers. Got a Disco 300tdi in December and have been fixing minor faults and doing some servicing. So far:
set the valve clearances, changed the timing belt, replaced a leaking injector seal, changed gearbox, transfer box and front axle oil. Fixed the heater fan and wiper parking. Just started stripping out the carpets and sound deadening today and scared myself with the state of the floorpan and sills -lots of holes. Do I throw the carpets and stuff in the bin and if so what do I replace them with.
The welder has come out of retirement and overhauled so there are no excuses for starting on the repairs.
Anyone have recommendations on whose sill repair panels to use? How about ribbed steel panels to replace the floors?
Love driving this car, I never thought going slow could be so much fun! Looking forward to getting the metalwork solid and then playing with suspension, wheels and fuel pump settings.
