I have always been one of those staunch "buy a landrover, buy an AA Membership"kind of guys, and that associated banter that went with my offroad get group because I owned a Japanese car.

Must have been 5 years one of my fellow club members has been telling me to get a landrover and I took the plunge and finally purchased a 52plate auto landrover discovery 2, td5 with all the goodies and no ACE, also with potentially the most solid chassis I have ever seen for an absolute steal of a price, (honestly I would have paid twice what I paid for it in the condition it's in) and a stack of service items including the other two amigos and belts.

Anyway.. it's currently at a friend's being stripped underneath and undersea led with some por15 and I have a few jobs to do before I start bolting bits onto it but the plans are for a moderate lift, snorkel, knobbly tyres and some hd bumpers, and possibly a transfer box with the locking diff.

I already have a cat delete from the 10p, and an egr removal kit sat waiting at home on the side.

I will get some pics up later, but this should be good.

Welcome to the looneyzone and arriving from the dark side.

Make sure you have AA / RAC membership...LOL.

Great motors the D2 TD5's, a couple of things you might want to consider.

Looking at the "proposed" "maybe" "might happen" new MOT rules, hang onto the CAT and EGR in case you need them again until things have been resolved.
Make sure you have the EKA code.
Get a spare working fob if you do not have one already.
Find / make a friend who has the proper working diagnostics for a D2 Td5.
Download a copy of the RAVE WSM.

Make sure to check behind the rear suspension shocks / springs on the chassis mounts. a hiding place for the tin worm.

Look into getting a stage 1 remap, it makes a world of difference, 1 recommendation is Mike at Dynochip.

Piccies , we like piccies.

Cheers

I was wondering if I could do what I had done in my Peugeot with the egr actially, remove and blank the hole and replace the pipe on top of the blank.. looks like it's all there, doesn't waste my precious ponies into the intake.

As neilly has said, welcome to the LoonyZone.
If that's Porth in the Rhondda, don't know of any other, if ever you need diagnostics, I'm close to Bridgend and have a Nanocom.
