hi everyone , I know this has been covered before but can't find it ,, what im looking to do is replace existing alpine stereo " 2000 v8 vogue thor R/R " with a new unit that has usb/ Bluetooth /aux output.. etc that will work to existing steering wheel controls ,!!!!!!! i.e. plug n play cheers lads in anticipation , mozz

Your a bit old in the tooth to be messing with those new fangled usb/bluetooth/aux arn't you Arthur? If you want blouetooth get Megan to soak your dentures in Radox.:D:D:D:D

I found this place when I was thinking of doing something like this when my DSP AMP broke. http://www.uniqueintegrations.co.uk/services/conversions/range-rover/ Here is the quote they gave me:

This was a quote to change the stereo to an Alpine 178bt which will give you Ipod control via USB and Bluetooth hands free and audio plus a single slot cd player. We would then fit a pair of JL Audio C2 650 front components and run them of a JL Audio 4 channel amplifier running them and the factory subwoofers

Alpine 178bt

JL Audio c2 650 speakers

JL Audio 4 channel Amplifier

2 x RCA cables

Amp power kit

5 metres Speaker cable

Steering Control Interface

Radio Facia Panel

6 hours labour(60+vat an hour)

Total £1234.99inc vat

This system was using the same head unit but we would change the front speakers to a pair of JL audio TR speakers which is their entry level speakers and not run the subwoofer.

Alpine 178bt

JL Audio TR 650 speakers

5 metres Speaker cable

Steering Control Interface

Radio Facia Panel

3 hours labour£60+vat ban hour

Total £680.98inc vat

More than I wanted to spend so I found a replacement DSP and fixed it that way.

Good luck.

You've given the old bugger a heart attack, it's only for his mobility scooter.:p:D:D:D

Try looking on Google I'm sure there's a radio that just needs 1 part from Germany added to it an u just swap them over

My Pioneer DEH-P6800MP head unit is superb and is equally as good as the original Clarion I just pulled out sound quality wise if not better. If you look at the technical specs of the Pioneer you will see it equally matches it for performance and yet adds MP3 and iPod support, DAB, Bluetooth etc by using the IP Bus system at the back of the head unit.

I purchased my Pioneer DEH-P6800MP for only £140 approx inc delivery. Halfords sell the same unit for twice that at £299.

I will post pictures of my unit working as I think it proves how good an after market unit looks when professionally fitted. It certainly doesn’t look rubbish and out of place. And with the burr walnut radio blanks either side, you wouldn’t know the difference unless you saw the original.

If you’re really looking for a SAT NAV system, and as already stated, Pioneer’s AVIC-X1BT Sat Nav DVD system can’t be beat. It’s far superior to any official LR SAT NAV system and provides DVD playback throughout your P38 by adding further LCD screens in the headrests etc, Radio, Bluetooth hands free telephony, CDR playback with MP3, WMA, AAC capability too and all this with a 6.5" Motorised Touch Screen that comes out the unit.
