Hi
after owning my td5 disco for serveral months now i started to miss listening to my good old cds. Tried to find a cd changer for the phillips head unit, but no luck. So, time for a change. Off i went to halfords to see what i could find. Nice young chap from halfords talked me through all the new techno stuff and after i explained i wanted something not to flash or expensive, something that still works with the handsfree and the steering wheel controls. i walked out with a JVC -KDG321 cd receiver. tried to get them to fit for me but it would be nearly into february before it gets fitted. so off i went home.
pulled the old one out, fitted the new one in. Radio worked,:) cd player :) worked, mobile worked:) but no steering controls.:( i need some sort of oe remote adapter???? i've spent most of this evening looking on the net and i'm getting very, very confussed. Can someone help???
i believe the two grey wires one red and the other with stripes left in the iso connector belongs to the steering control? somehow i need to connect these with the remote input lead on the receiver??? is this right??
i plan to go back to Halfords sometime next week.
As much info before then would be great.
cheers
Ady

Typical halfords, spotty kids who don't know anything and drive boyed up corsas.

Either it's the wrong radio and is not compatible with your remote or you need an interface, I know sony and kenwood radios work with the remote (some with interface, some without) but not sure on jvc. Take it back and find someone thats over 13 and knows what they're talkin about

If you go back to Halfords, they should be able to tell you the P/No of the aftermarket connector you need, to connect the steering wheel controls. When they fitted my new stereo, they ordered the lead in from their supplier.

Also, is your subwoofer working? If not, you will need an aftermarket lead for that too. Check out Ebay auction number 170067026233.
