Hey guys,
So I've been losing coolant slowly for a while now, but I just got back from a long trip yesterday and noticed quite a large pool of coolant this morning.

After removing the front grille this is what I discovered:

The pipes at the rear don't appear to be leaking, so does this look like I need a new radiator?

It's a 2000 discovery 2 td5. I've come across 2 different radiators one priced at about £100 for an aftermarket brand (PCC001070), and another one that appears to be about twice as expensive.

Is the PCC001070 the one I need?

Thanks guys,
Kane

Thanks discool,

From your link it appears I need the PCC107270 which was replaced by the PCC001070.
However it also states I need the PCS000010 restrictor for vehicles pre July 2001.

I think this is something to do with restricting the flow to the fuel cooler. However I have read reports of radiators already having restricted outlets on radiators with the same part code and also existing radiators with no such restriction.

If the radiator turns up without a restriction already built in, do you think it would be safe to run without the restrictor in (until such a part was obtained)?

From what I can find out the restrictor is there to restrict the flow back to the thermostat to allow the engine to warm up faster.

Cheers

Edit:

Just found this http://pl.b5z.net/i/u/6064257/f/tech._bulletin_0009.pdf which explains the situation.

I wonder why they also introduced a restriction to the fuel cooler end as well as the radiator outlet itself?
