Hello all, new to forum and owning a defender so any advice really appreciated.
Bassicly a standard 110 and I'm goin off-roading on Sunday and have been told there is a bonnet high river I need to cross.
So have bought my snorkel (about to fit now).
Have cleaned my gear box and tran box breathers out (totally blocked)
And plan to clean out diff breather tomorrow and run all 4 pipes :)in 6mm nylon to the top of the snorkel and u bend the tips.
What else do I need to do/fit to get away with bonnet high water levels??
Also any tips advice on steering guards apparently you need on defenders and should I remove roll bars ect ect only bought last week so all new to me.
(if anyone has anything I might need for sale to off road/green lane let me know Matt on 07746121765) THANKS :)

Might want a rad cover to reduce water in the engine bay, don't forget to fit wading plugs to bell housing and timing cover drain hole (if it has one) I assume its diesel as if it is a petrol you will need waders!

Oh and don't post your mobile number on an open forum - you have been warned!!

Can you afford to buy a new engine for your new to you defender ?

If the answer is no then give the bonnet deep water a miss, also dont run before you can walk !

Ther is more to it than bolting on a snorkel , in the end its up to you tho ..

Tow rope and I wouldn't go wading that deep if it is your first time I would ask for a routes around the ford I know some people who have been off road a lot and wouldn't do a ford that deep
