Hi all

Picked up P reg 4.0 LPG conv Sunday. :)

20 miles in - cruise control said ta ta and over the next 3 days (by day)

  1. EAS error and car listing like the Titanic. Get used to driving with neck craned to the side. Cost of physio a consideration...
  2. New exhaust fitted in order to prevent me and car receiving an ASBO. Aircon re-gas fails. Leak in aircon system
  3. Local landie specialist laughs when I take car to him to fix EAS, air-con, stiff gear change and oh yes the 12 MPG "performance" !!!!
Who knows what tomorrow will bring ???

:) I already have 2 picked out with the car with one guy in Stirling already (Newmarket Eng) and the garage in Braco 5 mins away specialising in 4 * 4's.

It might be worthwhile though to start developing a level of capability myself with this little lady. Anyone fancy spending a day in Dunblane with lunch and t thrown in ?

:welcome2: Tony, to the looneyzone and P38 ownership. Yes these problems arrise, all I'll say is.... deal with them properly the first time and at least you can be reasonably confident the next one will be something different:D:D:D

welcome tony mines listing like the titanic its going in range rover specialist place to have computor put on he believes its daft relay or fuse hopfully summit simple figures crossed hope you get your sorted soon

Hi Tony,
For a minute there I thought I was on PCGB! (But then Boxsters don't have quite so many issues)
Sad to say I've a Rangey P38 too, can offer useful advice and where to get stuff if you need. Have a load of EAS spares, airbags, compressor etc. if you need anything without going all ebay. Give me a shout at sales at akwaugh.com.
Andy

Day 4 - EAS has sorted itself and car is now at least on an even keel. Physio disappointed...

Plastic thingy arrived for the tailgate. Like some cliche I have 2 labradors and the plastic thingy is apparently to save the dogs paws.... OMG what next ? Tweed and suddenly taking up blood sports ?

Landy indy not able to spend much time on other issues so no shocks today...as yet.

Hi Andy

So it has to be real lunacy to own a Boxy and a P38. Given we already did an engine replacement on a 40k engine in Kay's Boxster the P38 is aleady outperforming it. :)

Not seen you in a while sir as we have kind of dropped out of the PCGB scene. Undoubtedly I will be looking to get some of those spares as and when I get the beast back.

Btw in everybodys experience what is the best manual & parts catalogue to aim to purchase ? I see a lot about RAVE but apparently there are some issues around what is available on the web. If site rules prevent issue of web-site addresses etc can somebody send me a PM with their recommendations ?

Thanks

RAVE is the LR workshop manual, I doubt you will find anything more comprehensive. :D

2 months and 10 days on.....

I got car back yesterday after paying for, wait for it, 25 hrs labour to get 2 out of 6 jobs completed.

Exhaust was a pig and a half. Now sent back 3 systems and lost so much £ along the way it is at that kind of hilarious pain stage.

Still don't have cruise control, aircon not functional and no gas at all in the system, windows rattles like hell nd sounds as if a runner at the bottom has gone.

Oh yeh tank is only around about 60 ltrs so as much use as a choccie tea pot and I need to renew the rear floor pan as original LPG fitter just bolted the tank thru the floor with absolutely no support hence floor has been taking all the pressures of the tank and whislt ok for now has signs of cracks.

Apart from that all well....

Oh for some reason I love the damm thing which is just as well because the Jeep went back today..... :p

Just joined LZ to see if there was anything to help me make up my mind about buying a range rover...
