I have just got myself another 110 TD5 which has had a new clutch and gearbox fitted. It used to be my mates and hes spent a canny bit on getting stuff done, the latest being the clutch and gearbox.

I swapped him for my TD5 90 yesterday and had a bit of a play with it this morning.

Started it up this morning and sounds rough as a badgers on idle, like its missing maybe? Nothing like my other 110. I took it for a drive to warm up and got back and when in neutral with the engine ticking over there is a loud ticking/grinding noise which disappears when the clutch is pushed, any ideas whats wrong???

Any help appreciated

As above... sounds like clutch release bearing. My symptoms are that just now and again when I fire her up the I get a whirring rattle and as soon as I press the clutch it goes and stays gone when I release it. It's 3 years since I bought my 110 knowing of this fault... works just fine. If it aint bust I don't fix it.
However.... again as above check the correct gearbox oil is in it.
