Hi, I’m David from Hertfordshire. I’ve Just bought my first RR l322 4.4tdv8 autobiography 2012. On its cold start I have a squeaking and tapping/knocking sound coming from what sounds like the fan behind the radiator. I realise this isn’t the area for asking these questions but was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction within this forum to get answers I need. Thanks.

Sounds like you may have a belt pulley on it's last legs.

Thank you, makes sense it might be the pulley as the belts have just been replaced by the last owner a few weeks back. Although the knocking and squeaking does disappear once it’s been running for for a while.

I’ve done my due diligence and was honestly expecting a few things would need ironed out and have a repair budget set aside. Wasn’t expecting it in the first few days though

I’ll give it a listen. I’m going to get it into an independent Land Rover garage shortly for a once over. Thanks again, I’m not the most knowledgeable regarding car engines etc so appreciate the help. What’s your thoughts regarding still using this daily until I get it booked in.
