Hi I've just found this forum, not sure how long it's been running.
I used to have a 1969 series 2A with my then partner. He put a Rover V8 in it, a 5 speed gearbox, put a new coil spring chassis under it and fitted a BMW power steering box on it. It was a great drive on and off road. We both used to do trialling with Northern Off Road Club.
2 years ago I decided to look for another series Landrover and found a 1972 series 3, petrol with LPG. My current partner has refurbished or replaced many parts.
I'm going to be looking for info about the steering box as it had a fair amount of play in it resulting in a wandering drive at higher speeds. We've tightened up the steering box but I've now seen threads about steering box oil and damper ....so we will look at these too.
Any advice would be welcomed
