i have told my insurance and they tripled my cover because they can !!! bar stewards !! as for the EGR valve in theory it's does not work as it is suppose to redirect some of the exhaust gases back through the engine to be re-burnt which means less oxygen and therefore doesn't burn as well, mine was half blocked and stuck also it puts lots of crap into the engine as well, passed the last MOT with the EGR removed with lower emissions that stated on the specs for when it was new !!!

blimey , that’s well out of order , flux and A plan don’t do that with ron boxes

the mot rules are all changing from the 1st may 2018 , ref egrs etc

just read new rules new emissions seem only to apply with cars with a DPF fitted which is all diesels from 2009 and some from earlier the freelander does not have one !!

just an update my freelander TD4 just passed it's MOT new emissions test WITHOUT AN EGR VALVE yah !!!! as predicted the emissions were lower than specs for a new car !!

need to replace my rear diff mounts on my TD4 which are best the standard ones or the polyurethane ones not much difference in the price ??
