I am now the owner of a Disco 3, manual diesel 2005. Previously I owned a 1993 TDi from new which I kept for 3 years and much regretted selling even though I was offered over top book price for it. I then bought a 3 year old TD3 which was first registered in 1996 and kept it until July last year. It had to go after failing MOT big time for rotting under rear. The cost of more welding was more than the car was worth and it had done 234,000 miles. I bought the Disco 3 which I think I am going to regret doing as the old Discos could be mended with spanners, not by someone standing in front with a computer! All the electronic gizmos are quite annoying at times and it has let me down badly by shutting down completely on the motorway. AA diagnosed over 40 faults! Does anyone have any similar experiences of D3s? As a pensioner, I do not have a money pit to delve into.
