Hi all,
I've just joined. I'm Edward, a 21 year old Architecture student from Brecon. After my initial "Ford Fiesta" and a two years driving an new Volvo S40 I finally got my first Land Rover for Christmas - a 1996 Discovery 300tdi.
I was told by some that it was the beginning of a slippery slope, and they were right.
---
Anyway, the question is I bought a roof rack and some side steps, but i've had problems fitting the side steps. They're not the standard bolt-on, but they seem to clamp on. I found these instructions online; http://www.sidesteps.co.uk/fitting/discovery_classic_steps.pdf
I can fit the front clamps on, but I can't seem to clamp them at the back. The plate for the bolt-through type steps blocks it, and the gap is too tight to get the clamp up high enough, and I don't know how safe it is to remove.
Here are the steps; Land Rover Discovery 1 Side Steps on eBay (end time 16-Apr-11 17:21:03 BST)
Does anyone have similar steps and/or have had problems fitting them? Any advice?!!
