Hi there everyone, I'm new to the forum & land rovers.
Can anyone help me with my new Freelander?
I bought a 98 Diesel Freelander just over a week ago, have put about 200 great miles on it, then parked it up for a few days.
Now it wont budge, like the brakes are seized on! Everything wants to go but it just lurches forward. The handbrake cables seem ok- and trying to free the brakes does nothing.
Hope to be around for a while as we love the freelander, well, untill this happened.
Thanks in advance

sounds like the rear shoes are stuck to drums common fault stick it in reverse give a few revs and should release with a bang ,strip down the shoes put copper ease on the side of shoes so they dont stick hope this helps tiga.

Thanks for the reply - you were dead right too :)
A pal suggested the same, which I did, OUCH it sounded like the rear axle was going to rip off!!
The brakes unlocked one at a time - I must do the copper grease like you have suggested.
I've a feeling you will alll hear from me again lol
Thanks again
Cheers
