Hi all - new to the forum and to Land Rover ownership. Over the Xmas break I have decided I should no longer look up Defender 90 Pick Ups and think "I will have one at some point" - so I am actually looking to get one.

It will be a second car - hoping I can fit my mountain bike with from wheel off at the back - doing only 10-20 miles a week. Would like something that looks simple, clean, retro. I can see there are a few on e-bay and auto trader for £25k. What are the things to look out for?

Thanks all!

Welcome:).

If you are looking in that price range it should be immaculate;). Also depends on which bit of the string you want cos the range is long;)

Best look/ask in the defender section as the list would fill the page;).
Galvanized chassis is a good place to start

Welcome :)
If you use the search function you will find loads of threads on the subject of what to look for.
As a warning, ebay is full of scam adverts and I would avoid. There are lots of Landies for sale on FB marketplace and it's easier to find ones within an acceptable distance from you. Or obv car trade mags. Take someone who knows LRs with you when you view. You can ask on the geographical sections on here.
Look for corresponding engine/VIN/V5 numbers on everything you view. Check for chassis and bulkhead condition before anything else. Best of luck.

Hi and welcome!

Lots of good advice already. You can get a hardtop 90 and convert it to truck cab. Decent hardtops will sell. All 90’s will easily convert to truck cab.
FB marketplace and eBay will give you an idea on price. But the likes of the LRO classifieds are better as you’ll likely find sellers are enthusiasts instead of scammers.

Let us know how you get on. Post some pics!

Will he get a fully assembled bike in the back of a 90? My feeling is not, I can only just get one in the back of my 109
