Hi all,

I'm now the proud owner of a 2004 Freelander 2, 2004.

It has a few knocks and bumps on it which my husband is working on. The o/s aide step is rotten and he is removing them. The stop and reverse assembly unit was cracked and we have managed to secure a new one. There is a loud noise like a "gedunk" when turning right. Not sure what that is.

Having had a look round the forums, I'm hoping to gain some confidence in my ownership. I live in the Lake District so my new car is a good buy for those windy, pot holed roads.

Look forward to reading further.

Hey, Brian,

Thank you for the welcome. My Landy has gone off to the garage with the old man to have some TLC.

I'm hopeful this place may teach me some elements of my car that will help me to understand it more.

Welcome to the Club. My daughter has exactly the same problem but when she turns
right.
A mech has looked at it and said it is the 'rotor' arm, I haven't a clue what that is but
from what I can gather it's the steering linkage from the steering box.
There some very good people on here, they may be able to verify. Good luck.
