So I purchased a 110 from a local dealer, who explained that he was selling it on behalf of another customer.

I drove it and it seemed different from my normal car which is a four door saloon rep box, but I assumed that it was natural for it to be a little alien, being that this is my first landy.

on driving it home we noticed that from 4th to 3rd was difficult to select and ground the gears as it did it, at first I thought it was me not engaging the clutch enough

a couple of days later we noticed a puddle of fluid under the carpet drivers side, it looked like clutch fluid, I checked the levels and it was low, bleed clutch and topped up level.

so I am now assuming that the master has gone as is leaking down the peddle and into the cab, informed the dealer who said yeah that sounds like your problem.

I thought fair do's I will change the master, dually bought a new master and was going to fit it, but noticed after bleeding the clutch that no more fluid has been lost, and level is fine.

however still has 4th into 3rd problem, I took it to a different land rover guy, who informed me that the problem is the syncros in the gear box and I need a new one.

the dealer I purchased it from is now "out" every time I call and will "get back to me" never does

I have only have the car just over a month, what should I do?

Why bother calling the dealer just take it back and refuse to leave until you either get a refund or they fix it!

I have called and spoken to the correct person today, he is less than happy with me asking him to fix it, basically told me I did not know how to drive and that I could get stuffed and to F off, which was nice, I have written my letter, taken advice and sent it via email and also record delivery, lets see what that does

Good luck fella;);)

Is there evidence of fluid on the master. Level is already low so it ain't gonna get better using it.

Doesn't sound major just get it done elsewhere and take the invoice stating the work done and why to the garage. Driving doesn't blow the seals in a master cylinder.

name and shame the garage mate.it might save others from buying a crap car from them.;)

all fixed, not a happy garage, but I have a new gearbox, just the letter did the trick, only problem now is the reverse light is always on, where is the switch to sort that?

on rear of gear box top lift center seat panel out ,switch is prc2911 can be wound in too far stopping full engagement of reverse and damaging switch though faulty ones are common

I will fiddle with it tomorrow and see what happens, just took the blub out for now, as I am thinking they cannot fail an MOT on a reverse light

It was working fine before the switch, since the switch reverse light is always on, Garage advised me that the switch can be adjusted by a 1/4 turn which should sort the problem, I really do not want to go back to them
