When I bought my first landy a few weeks ago I was able to get a fairly rough and rusted bull bar for £25 which I thought was a good deal.

I stripped the plastic coating off, sanded down, few coats of primer, a coat of black....some sanding in between and I just couldn't get the black gloss to look okay.

In Halfords to get some more and I noticed black truck bed liner so I thought I would give it a try. I had been debating on gloss or matt and figured I would give it a go. I'm really happy with the result and thinking of doing the checker plate in the same stuff.

anyways - thought I would share and see what others thought?

Most of it was turning out pretty good but the damage from the rust and a few dents where a bit of a challenge. I have to say I really like the texture of it - not just that its matt :)

Good to know I'm not the only one !

Looks good on that bar.

I did my chequer sills with the same stuff and they came out well. But I don't think I'll be doing the wing tops with it as it does seem to scrape off with dirty shoes leaving uncovered serrations (did a test piece with etch prime & used it as a door mat for a bit).

I has started welding bars over the wings (in front of the lights) and decided to keep it simple.

Now I've got to wire the fog lights - swiches and parts ordered :)
