Evening all,

This weekend I picked up my very first land rover, a 21 year old defender 90. I had been reading here a lot before biting the bullet and picking one up.

She's tidy externally, recent respray, chassis is solid as is the bulkhead, got a slight leak on the engine that I am going to address and do a full service on her, for my peace of mind.
Internally, she needs a bit of a tidy up, the roof lining is knackered as are the rear benches, the back has a piece of somebody front room carpet they no longer wanted I think. So I am going to get her tidied up inside also.

I am in love with her, i'm sure i'll be on here asking loads of questions, always owned modern cars that haven't really needed looking after or have been taken to garages to be sorted - the land rover will be solely DIY, I hope...

It's not a leak. It is the anti-corrosion protection system.

Welcome to weekend tinkering!

I hope it does only turn into weekend tinkering, I am sat in work on here and thinking about what I can do tonight on the 90...

Ah yes, you're the right stuff. It turns into the Forth Bridge with that kind of thinking. There's always SOMETHING.
