Hi Guys and Gals
I have 2 remote fobs for my Disco and only 1 ignition key (which is not attached to the fob as I think it's previously had a new ignition barrel )

I'd like to buy 2 new shell fobs with blank blade keys so that I can swap the circuit boards from my current fobs into the new ones and have the blades cut from my existing key

Will that work ? Anyone got any recommended fobs or places to buy from if this will work ?

you can buy only two blank blades for your fobs and cut them after the good one as the blades are replaceable in the fob NEW Replacement Landrover Discovery 2 Disco II TD5 uncut Key Blade | eBay , if you insist to swap the circuits here you go LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2 BUTTON REMOTE KEY FOB CASE/BLADE + FREE REMOTE BATTERY | eBay but i dont see why would you do that, as you see the blade is out of the casing anyway, see this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBXlhmnRGWY

Hi Sierrafery - thanks for the info. That's what I'd been looking at. I only have 1 working key which is not a blade key. If I buy 2 blank blades to go into my 2 fobs, will I be able to get the blades cut from my non-bladed key ? Sorry if that's a daft question ! Appreciate your help

that's a question for a key cutter man but imo it shouldn't be a problem

The PCBs if not working can be repaired as well

Make sure that your keycutting man is well used to copying vehicle/ignition keys.
I've tried to get keys cut by two cutters now and none have worked yet.

by the way, you better keep an old key too for the case you end up immobilised or the receiver fails cos you'll need to use the EKA and use the key in the door...or remove the door lock barrel and find a handy locksmith who will addapt it to your ignition keys
