hi I’m new here, I live in the high peak, I own a Disco 4, which I allow my husband to drive as he works 130 miles away, and I’ve just traded in my beloved Defender for a Freelander (sob) I’m looking for advice on the EGR valve on my Freelander.
I owned 3 Freelanders, one of which was an ED4 (all were fantastic motors) prior to my Defender, however I traded it in as I’ve some long distance driving to be doing and I wanted something more.. reliable unfortunately I didn’t get what I wanted in the form of the 13 plate automatic Freelander with 40k on the clock.
It’s still under warranty by the way, but the EGR keeps clogging up and it ends up running like a bag of spanner’s! It keeps happening every few weeks, been in and out the garage but each time I do long distance the EM light pops on! It’s driving me insane. Obviously it’s scary when you’re driving down the M1. Just wondering if bypassing the EGR would be viable on an auto? Thanks in advance
