Well, a few of may know that I like lights :D

However I am sick of the facelift headlights I have fitted at present filling up with condensation, so have been looking about to see what other lights I could fit.

Have now ruled out the L322 range rover lights, as they are just too deep esp with the batteries being just behind the lights.

was wondering what people would think of the facelift Freelander lights fitted to a disco - will look odd - I appreciate that, but like to do things 'out of the box'...

As I don't want to spend a fortune on new lights, and these seem quite cheap.....

Taking your "light fetish" into account, I assume you'll be fitting these in addition to the existing ones. Under the bumper perhaps !!!!

Where's your third battery going to go ????

Although I do like lights, I am running out of places to put them, with the driving lamps already in front of my grille, so these will have to replace my existing light setup.....

Therefore my current 2 battery setup will still be sufficient to run them all - although I do have working its way to me a 2nd alternator bracket from fellow member 'pressbrake' just to up my voltage :D

lol, nah just to help charging both batteries, and to take the strain off just one alternator ;)

my personal opinion is to keep your lights how you got them but if you fancy a change then why not but dont forget piccys

It does look like the angle of the light will follow your bumper but the issue could be the angle with the bonnet.

Not easy for you to do a qiuck test fit as it looks like your bumper needs to come off. And once the bumper is off you might as well just fit them!!

Yeah I don't think it will be the best of matches but like you say shouldn't be too much out that a few pieces of metal as a trim can't sort.

Lights off is quite a job as it is a complete bumper off job, but stops the toe rags nicking them tho.

Might give it a go.....

Do they not have too much of a swept back angle for a disco? Disco lights are pretty flat fronted.

Try photoshopping it to see how it would look?

I thought of that already and as long as i get the projector type lense ones i can easily adjust the beam to compensate for bringing in the angle, well that's my plan......

Excuse me for butting in but is there anything that can be done for condensation that forms on the inside of the facelift lamps?

revised design on vent tubes. it is subject to a lr doc sheet, but the official line is "they do".

believe me, I have tried I think most things....but when you are up against this...

You start to lose hope and buy goldfish for your mobile aquarium

In the summer months they are fine...

Well, I have decided to give it a go, and just bought some new USA versions, as then I can have a play with the projector lense in making it RHD and also making sure the light pattern is pointing correctly, and also as they were cheap as chips :D

Will let you all know how I get on, including pics ;)

StuRox, mine are not as bad as the first two photos you posted, mine is just starting down the sides and probably covers less than 1/20th of the lens but if there is a way of cleaning it or eliminating it i'm interested. It'll be interesting to see how those new lights fit and look. What are they off?

Lucky you :p i suppose my offroad antics dont help them either ;)

They are freelander 2 headlights, and will do up a new thread with pics when i get them and try to fit them ;)

Excellent, i'll look forward to reading that. I'm not adventurous at all with modifying things to fit. I would like to fit a supercharged grille to my D2 though. Saw the one on the Simmonites page and it looks stunning.

I notice you have the DRL's across the bottom of your facelift lights. Did you fit those yourself or were the lights bought like it?

Fitted them myself when i retrofitted projector lenses and smd led clusters for the indicators and side lights ;)
