Just bought a new front drive shaft for my 1986 Defender 90. I have raised suspension so i bought a shaft from a disco for better articulation.
However i have discovered that the mount holes from the front diff are different to the shaft.
Any ideas where i can locate an adaptor plate so i can couple the two together?:mad:

Are you talking about the prop-shaft?
Have you got 3 holes in the prop flange and 4 holes in the diff and T/F box flanges?
If so, you'll need to change the diff and T/F box flanges for those from the Disco, if you want to use that prop.

He said front shaft so I doubt that the problem :)

Given that it's an '86 D90 I suspect he has the LT85 box which has different gearbox flanges than the Discovery.

@P38 Mike. I'm a little lost as to why you think a Discovery prop shaft would help with what you are trying to do? Can you give me detail.

Didnt some Disco's come with a decardon front prop or was that only TD5 90's? Mabe thats what he means

Tis true yes. Discovery 2s came with double cardon joints. In which case an flange off an LT85 box will solve the problem.

It's one way round or the other :)
