Hi guys. Just purchased my first Land Rover. a 2000 td5 discovery. As expected there's a few problems. 1 what oil does the ace system take as its a little low. Also the fuel gauge was fine till I filled the car up. Now every time I take my foot off the Excelerator the gauge reads empty. Foot my foot back on it reads anyway between half and full. Any ideas. Mark.

Cold climate fluid, but check for leaks. System is repairable for less than conversion to ordinary roll bars.

Cold climate fluid as MJI has stated. LR part number STC50519. It is available on ebay (search on the part number), but it ain't cheap but on there it's about half the price the main stealer would charge.

The same stuff goes into the power stering.

your sender on the in tank pump may be goosed, may just be a loose wire, boot carpet up and through the inspection hole is where it is, around about £100.00 for a good new one, complete pump etc, not a difficult job to do if you go that route
