Hi,

As stated, i have a disco 3 and want to try a bit of green laning. I don't want to go mad with it as i can't afford to damage the car so am looking to do a few wide/less damaging routes.

I plan to go out with a few people from here to see what its like first (in another members Landy) and also have a Land Rover Experience booked at Luton Hoo on Wednesday.

I live in Hemel (Herts) so am just wondering if anybody on here knows of any good lanes etc where i can do it without damaging the car.
Met Paul (Defenderdog1) earlier who gave some great advice as to starting and finding routes so am just looking to see if there are any other local(ish) people that can help.

Thanks
Rich

You'll have a great time in your disco 3 and for the whole part the worst damage you will incur would be scratches from hedges.

I am in no way suggesting this is a good thing for a shiny car but it is sometimes prohibitively inevitable.

Thus, I recommend having the sides of the car wrapped in a relatively thick vinyl, basically the stuff that is normally fitted to vehicle fronts for stone chip protection.

This stuff is ideal because it doesn't show scratches like paint and you know your paint is 100% underneath, and the big bonus is you won't have to turn anywhere hear as many lanes down if you know you won't be scratched.

Worth considering :)

There are some good lanes round Northampton you could do in a D3 - currently shut for winter, but, will happily take you when they're open - probably in my Series rather than my D3... but I have laned my D3 and they're very capable, just not amazing on ground clearance - the spare wheel acts as a giant anchor...
