Well they showed the new Land rover Dc100 today, which has been confirmed as the replacement for the Defender in 2015.
Looks pretty but it does not look like the old work horse you'd expect from a defender.
what do you guys think?

Is this going to be Land Rover's equivalent of the Porsche 928.

The 928 was supposed to replace the 911... Customer reaction resulted in Porsche scuppering that plan.

I think its great because it means our traditional Defenders are going to hold their value and be sought after even more. At least with the current shape you can trace it right back to the very first Series landys.

If you saw that new one you'd be hard pressed to relate it to what most people recognise as a Land Rover.

When they bring out a new Disco the prices of the previous ones plummet. It might be worth buying one of the last (current shape) defenders if the prices fall in the same sort of way.
I'm not sure if I like the new model. It definately looks like a LandRover but nothing like a Series or Defender.

This new Defender does not look as if it would be happy with four sheep and a bale of hay in the back.

it looks more like a fridge, can you seriously see that stupid little yellow thing with 35" tyres and a snorkle wading? me neither :mil77:

when i first saw it i thought it was a mini on steroids looks like ill be keeping my old defender a lot longer

Looks pretty but not a replacement for a Defender. I can't see the Military in one of them.
I would not want to drive one of those where my Defender goes or use it as I use the Defender for carrying wood from the forest.
I agree with a previous comment about the Porsche 928. I think they should scrap the Freelander and use this as its replacement and keep the Defender. To my mind the Defender is more of a truck than a smooth limo.
Nope, I will stick with my Defender. They have got it all wrong.
