Well ive had to make a tough choice recently with the 1.8 freelander needing a clutch, and few other bits for next MOT ive decided its not worth while repairing it and im going to be breaking my freelander 1.8 for parts....

So i decided I needed another. LOL. Pics are from advert. TD4, manual, van full bulkheads etc, with removalable roof and also sunvisors lol. Bit rough, and needs some work but will be ideal for me. Gonna be something special with little effort!





Be a good project aim to have it road legal by end of november, tyres and rims going into her from old one. 30mm hubcentric spacers ordered also as this one has the big brakes that my old one didnt.













Well what I'm up against. Two days of cleaning the interior (and its still not done, seat steam clean next imo) and we now have a clean van!!















Steam clean next for the seats, big tyres from other freelander and spacers on route.

i bought the same but in black, same year but an auto

then converted mine to have seats, removing the rear side plates for windows , seat belts, new carpets etc

as mine is an auto put the oem cruise control in

took a while to get all the mods done on the engine but am more than happy with it

good luck and should keep u busy for a while :D

With the side of the seat just beginning to go like that - you might consider swapping the seat cushions over. The tear will only get bigger where it is. The plastic trim on the door side of the seat has screws that go through the cushion - so you will end up with a couple of holes in the fabric on each seat on the hand brake side of the seats. The tear though will not get worn any bigger and any repair does not need to be so sturdy.
 
And it continues. Firstly an essential mod. A radio. All £13 worth lol. You can also see the hard to find freelander dash cup holders, which are a nice touch of luxury in a van environment.



To go with the ariel a nice shorter but amplified bee sting unit, again pulled off my old freelander. Feel strange to be stripping what is essentially a decent parts car.



Then I went a bit mad and bought a 3rd freelander.....















LOL!

But cant beat it for two quid.





Trail fitting of 30mm spacers,very impressed with them, much better quality than I had suspected. Easily as good as my H and R setup I had a few years ago. Plus black so win, then spacers removed and brake lines cleaned up etc for mr mot man, and then disc / hubs cleaned and sprayed up.





Went a bit wild with the spray paint, had to clean it off front discs before fitting spacers as was in a rush before the rain started! Typical norn iron.












And basically her completed now. Service kit arrived today at last, and waiting on the back door being removed from other silver doner car, after that shes off to MOT!
 
Love it mate, had a 56plate that I ran to 250k, sold it for 500 quid to a garage who replaced the oil cooler and sold it for £2500, still see it around. I miss that car

Aa the Rims are pre vented fronts I needed spacers to fit onto vented fronts so it's actually a necessity.

Plus means I've now a set of 16s for my dad's freelander for free so he can maybe get something more aggressive eventually.

looks good mate

are u going to keep it as a van type or convert it to seats

like the tyres , how are they noise wise , handle etc on the tarmac

love the third hippo, lol
 
Stay van 100%. Have a nice 75 auto as a daily also of I need car etc.

They are hardcore, bit of noise but they will go anywhere I was well impressed on the 1.8 and dare say in the td4 will be better.

Very good in rain and general handling surprisingly but I don't drive the freelander hard.

sounds ideal ref the tyres , in having some decent off roading tyres

only got some bridgestone duellers fitted on mine and would have another set , been really pleased with them
 
I had to put 5mm shims on mine as I bought pre vented wheels by mistake. The shims were only £5.50 from ebay for the 4 but they don't fit the hub properly so you need to hold them in position while tightening the wheel nuts. There are much better quality shims available from MuddyMods but they are £22.

what make are the boots ?
 
Well that's her almost done.

Rear door fitted cheers to Nicky for the panel which is a dam sight better than my old one. Bloody nightmare to align and tbh its not perfect but it will do for now.

Just gotta sort microswitch and two exhaust rubbers next and that's her mot ready.

Hi mate
I just spotted your post on facebook and thought "I recognise those wheels" :p
Do you plan to take your Freelander off road? I'm guessing so with those tyres so where do you plan taking it?
 
Planning to take it anywhere it will let me go. Lol.

All going well have several off road days but my potential next job might require a competent off road vehicle for when the road cars arnt suited.

I joined the NILRC earlier this year but have yet to go out with them properly. They seem to have events organised every couple of weeks. I'm hoping to get my car ready in the next week or two.
