hi folks. i had done a manual conversion from auto on my disco 1 3.9v8. i have a full 5ltr of automatic transmision oil i think fully synthetic. can i put that in a manual gearbox or is the oil a diffrent grade. as theres talk about mtf94 oil

if its an r380 or lt77 then you can use the oil

Although appaz R380 prefers MTF.

I've been hankering to try MTF in my LT77 but teh internets tells me not to!

why atf served both boxes well its only lack of changes causes issues

Yeah I guess so James. I don't really know the details tbh.

I have a feeling that MTF is a more competent manual box oil but maybe it is just wasted on land rover crash boxes

i can assure you after stripping many they dont suffer lube problems if oil is fresh and correct level ,lt77s biggest issue was mainshaft wear ,a t/box problem
