hello all, not been on here for a while - had to get rid of the landy, but... the guy I sold it to has done something to it! there's a nasty clunk/slip from the rear prop shaft area, he thinks after about 9 rotations of the shaft. Am I right in thinking maybe something in the diff has gone? Or could there be anything else to look for?
I got him to jack up the rear end and turn it by hand and he said he felt a noticable slip as he turned it.
Any help much appreciated, just don't like seeing it sit there doing nothing!
cheersd

cheers,
take it it's a new diff job then?
would it be pushing it to drive it about a mile? or could the rear prop be removed and it driven in 4wd slowly?
he'll need to get it to a garage cos he bout as mechanical as a slug! :D

Rear prop off, rear drive shafts out, 4wd and no probs. Not sure if handbrake wud still work. Think so, but best to be carefull.

I have a spare diff if you need. On the Wirral. Might need a cleen and I have no gasket but it is a real easey job to change.

wicked ta! as i said its not for me so i'll get back to you as soon as spoken to him!
just hope the nuts come undone!
