Yep- it's different than blighty/euro. Any one put any thought into this, particularly....

Why is the thermostat control at the tail end of the radiator?(!) Are yours ECU controlled for thermostat opening?

Thinking that cold NAS regions KV6 failure is due to block boiling due to failure to open thermostat when cold airflow through radiator won't open same!

Ideas? Opinions?

thermostat is controlled by the good old laws of physics, not the ecu.

there has been a lot written about thermostat positions on K series engines. I know for sure there is a modification for the 1.8 k series which relocates the thermostat, but sure about the 2.5.

One of the theories is the thermal shock when the thermostat opens and lets (relatively) cold water into a hot engine

The V6 stat is on the Rad return just like the 1.8. It's located in the V section and is of the pressure bypass type. Not heard of them freezing in the UK though just the O rings leaking allowing the cooling system to vapour lock!!
